Senior Network Engineer - 6 month Contract

$500 (max) per day dependant on skills and experience

Our client requires the services of a Senior Network Engineer with 5 years+ experience in the Nokia RNS Platform, good knowledge of 3G, some capital management experience along with leadership skills and planning abilities .

In this role you will essentially own the RNC platform and will be accountable for:- RNC Planning, RNC Design, RNC Capacity Management, RNC Performance Management, RNC Capital Management and to provide assistance / recommendations to other groups with relation to all aspects of RNC platform.

Key responsibilities will be to:-

• Plan and design RNC & BSC platforms according to growth forecasts.
• Plan, forecast, accrual and manage capital budget for RNC platform.
• Monitor platform load and manage capacity upgrades and/or network rearrangements.
• Monitor and optimise platform performance.
• Provide assistance to other groups in the area of RNC software features and interworking with other Network Elements
• RNC Spare, Licence Key and Platform life cycle management.
• Provide technical support to internal customer in matters of performance, capacity, configuration and service assurance of the RNC platforms.
• Provide technical support in the development of Operational Support Systems for RNC platforms.
• Liaise with vendors on technical and commercial matters.
• Handle platform development - introduction of new technology and new architectures

To be considered for this role you will require:-

• 5 years+ experience in the Telecommunication industry.
• Solid knowledge of 3G technologies.
• Solid knowledge of Nokia RNC platform
• Experience in network planning and design and capacity/performance management.
• A Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
